Another (darker) view of Italy

CBC's Ideas did a documentary a while back on Italy that presents a darker view of the country http://www.cbc.ca/ideas/features/italy/. Apparently, the thing that made Italy prosperous -- high quality, high style goods and innovation in design, can now be done almost as well and for less cost in other countries. This has led to a big soul-searching among Italians - un malessere, a malaise. See an article in the International Herald-Tribune called "It Italy - A Winter of Discontent"
