Larry nella scuola

Today was Larry's first class at the University of Bologna. Tomorrow will be Omri's first class. The difference is that Larry teaches and the students have to learn in English. Omri's classes will be in Italian and his classmates probably won't speak much English. Other than that, there is not much difference.

Larry's course is called the Management of the Music Industry, which is taught in the Masters degree in Innovation and Organization of Culture. Larry's course is a two week intensive course that uses heavy terms such as belters, money note, labels, profits, bidding wars, and even share-croppers. Today the students were treated to songs sung by Celine Dion, Cherie and Aselin Debison -- who are "belters." Students taught him what "house" music is -- this is techno.

Larry , seen here above is lecturing to his students who speak excellent English and know a lot about culture. Some pupils insist on hanging round the front -- their resemblance to coats is merely coincidental.

Lunch was at the student cafeteria. Though it is out-sourced to Sodexho the food is quite good. Giuditta's vegetarian plate was good, but her Italian wasn't good enough to ask whether it should have been microwaved. She ate it cold -- but is convinced that the half tomatoes filled with bits of peas, potato and eggplant were supposed to be warmed up. Today verdura (vegetables fried in batter) were on the menu too. Not bad. Again the coffee is served in demi-tasses, about 2 gulps worth, after the meal. Omri and Giuditta had white wine with lunch.

I feel neglectful that i didn't inform you of the various shades of techno music before your trip. Best to tell them you're into "minimal" techno - very esoteric and thoughtful.

However, here is a link to "speak" the Hungarian "rapper" who is a YouTube celebrity and likely the worst thing to come out of Hungary since Hungarians started exporting their cuisine...
